netTALK Lifetime free calls to USA CANADA, Review & comparison with Ooma & MagicJack

Last year PC Magazine has rated MagicJack as Product of the year 2008. MagicJack was a clear hit in the market and so many people ordered it without any doubt. We were really waiting for some similar service which can give direct competition to Magic Jack. Thanks to our reader Sarath Bellamkonda who told us about netTALK which has introduced a service , better than MagicJack in so many aspects. Today we will discuss and review about netTALK TK6000.

What is netTalk TK6000?
netTALK TK6000 is a small size device which you can easily fit in to your pocket. This device need a high speed internet connection and an ordinary phone to get unlimited free phone.

Features
  • Free Phone Number
  • Free Local and Long Distance calls in USA and CANADA
  • Free Directory Assistance
  • Free E911 Registration, Call Waiting and Caller ID
  • Free Caller ID
  • Call Forwarding/Multi-Ring
  • Three Way Calling
  • Free calls to other TK6000 on the planet
  • Travel friendly pocket sized device
  • No Computer Required for using service
  • 2 Step Setup.. No technical expertise or drivers required
  • Flexibility to use with USB computer or directly through Router

Costing
With the TK6000, you don't have to pay $24.99 every MONTH! Only $99.95 or 4 easy payments of $24.95 and you won't owe another penny for life*. Compare that to approximately $300 per year for service with Vonage!(*Lifetime service available for a limited time only.)

netTALK TK6000 vs Ooma
  • Much cheaper than Ooma $389.99 price tag
  • Ooma offers free call only to USA while netTALK offers free calls to USA and Canada
  • netTALK TK6000 is pocket sized while Ooma is comparatively bigger and not portable
  • netTALK offer more connectivity with both USB and Router while Ooma can only be connected through router

So clearly netTALK TK6000 is clearly a winner.

netTALK TK6000 vs MagicJack
  • netTALK can work with or without computer USB port whereas in MagicJack you must have an USB port
  • 99.95 USD for lifetime looks much more cheaper than Magic Jack 39.99USD initial cost and 19.95 USD per year
  • More extra feature like in netTALK TK6000
  • netTALK TK6000 have 1 year manufacturer guarantee
  • Magic Jack's 30-day Money Back Guarantee starts 30 day count from ORDER DATE (we also have a 30-day MBG, but we don't start counting down the 30 days until your product is shipped, giving you more time to decide to fire your phone company).
  • Easy installation in case of netTALK TK6000 without any computer expertise and need of drivers as it can be directly used with router.

As you can see with the comparison that netTALK has done enough exercise to beat market competition. I request our readers to drop comments on netTALK.

  2. NetTalk is a scam when you try to get a refund; and if you buy a TK6000 expecting it to work, you will eventually have to send it back. They claim you can get a refund within 30 days. The problem is you can have the unit delivered into their hands but they will not process the refund to put the money back in your account. They hold onto your money, all the time making interest on it, to capture some of the money they are losing. Bad company to do business with.

  4. Clearly you must work for Nettalk because I don't know anyone that it works for reliably. Yes, it works occasionally if you restart your TK6000 2 or 3 times a day, but consistently friends and family inform me that they've tried calling for days without getting through to me.

  6. It is not stable, lots of missing calls; unable to dial some conference call 800 number; Called helpdesk, they do pickup the phone, but couldn't resolve anything but asking you to reboot again - or just wait for a few days for another release to update!!!

    Very regret to have it...

  7. Nettalk is not free for life.
In Canada, it costs around U$70 to get the hardware including 1 year's worth service.

Additioonal cost to get a Canadian Number:

5.99 PER MONTH (from the first day) if you want a Canadian number i.e (514) area code.
THEY INTENTIONALLY HID THE CANADIAN NUMBER COST, UNTIL I HAD PAID FOR THE HARDWARE...

It turns out that the first year of service costs U$141, and U$111 subsequent years.

The sound is good, but my friend who uses MagicJack sounds FAR better than I do on Nettalk, and he pays about 40 a year to renew...

If you leave your PC ON all day, MagicJack is a FAR better deal for a Canadian number...
    MAGICJACK (unfortunately) wins hands down.

  8. I also got ripped off when I returned my NetTalk Duo within 30 days because I could not get it to work. Its been 2 1/2 months and I'm still fighting with them to get my refund. They use every promise and excuse in the book.
