Recently we have discussed about VZOchat.com, which provide free video calling feature on mobile. But VZOchat on mobile is only available to windows mobile phones. Since Symbian launches S60 V5 operating system, we were searching for an application which allow free Video chat on mobile and PC. Now the search is over, imiChat.com application allows you to make free video chat with any other imiChat users across the globe either on mobile or PC. We have used this video chat application on Recently launched Samsung Omnia GT-i8910 and NOKIA N97 and reviewed it.

I find this application very useful. But the only draw back is Video quality is not that much good. But for mobile it is ok. When I used this application in HD mode with rear camera on Samsung Omnia GT i8910 then video quality at other end was pretty fine.

- Simply install and register to login
- In your mobile, click on call option and enter other persons mobile number without country code or PC user name
- Your friend will receive incoming call notification
- After accepting you both can see your videos on your mobile screen
- If you want to type in text mode then Press enter and if you want to send voice message hold your dial key
Well sending voice is not a very good option as it is not live and it will make you feel like walkie Talkie. But anyway if you have Symbian S60 Rel 5 mobile then it will be good for you. I have not tested voice chat feature on Symbian S60 Rel 3 Devices like N95. I request users to put comment about this.
One thing i want to add is please goto settings and in Search setting option, put search, otherwise you will receive so many unwanted Video calls. Overall this application is nice and worth trying.

and this works amazingly fine in my Nokia 5800 as well!! A couple of days we (Rahul and me) tried this app. Yes, we used both the cameras (Front and Back):)

ReplyDelete@abhishek, you can only make a successfull video call when your friend using imichat too. you will both need to install it in your phone. otherwise it will send an automatic text message to your friend for downloading the application. :)
