ReplyDeleteThere are (6) allowable phone numbers to a particular overseas destination for World Max plan.Call them or send email to customercare@lingo.com. They may get rid of that clause eventually.
ReplyDeleteThe 4999 minutes per month translates to around 2 hours 40 minutes per day. Assuming this includes domestic as well as international calls, the plan is a very limited calling plan (and not the unlimited plan as Lingo is marketing this scheme as). I also understand that Lingo is planning to assign the 4999 minutes per month for US calls only and assign 250 - 300 minutes per month for international calls. That would mean 10 minutes per month for calls worldwide. Getting the truth out of the Lingo customer service is a very tough job. You have to listen to some spooky music for about 30 minutes before someone would talk to you. I have been a Lingo subscriber for 5 years, but the current status is making me think about continuing with Lingo.
ReplyDeleteI been Lingo customer since 2004, Since Hellow world Max, so called "unlimited" plan is there i am using that plan. Today my service got suspended because I used more htan 5000 domestinc and 300 international minutes. It is same with vonage aswell. Best ever service I found is Indiald.com for calling to india. No hidden charges at all and no fine print rules.

ReplyDeleteHorrible is the word to describe Lingo! On the Lingo website it's clearly indicated that it's an unlimited plan. They just suspended my service for exceeding the residential limit? It's a bogus service, who're cheating people in disguise of an unlimited plan. If they wanted, they could have charged us extra for "exceeding residential limit" which was unknown to us, but cutting off service while they are charging us monthly is just taking it to the extreme level. I really hope people think and research before they sign this 2 year, "unlimited" contract scam of Lingo!

Got hold on someone and he tells me they have a limit of 500 mins international call, where is that fine print?? we all should do a lawsuite against them.

ReplyDeleteI only used two hundred minutes and they emailed me that I am in vilation of their policy and my account will be cancelled. I signed up because they offer unlimited calls to Bangladesh but never mentioned that unlimited means less than two hundred minutes. I will setup a web site lingoclassaction.org and see if I can get enough people to get a class action going. If you have used less than 5000 minutes and your line is disconnected please email me your name/email because this is a sort of discriminatory profiling by lingo. syed1ali@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteI myself had called lingo customer service for the same and came to know around 200-300 minutes is the max we can make use lingo service for. HARD TO BELIEVE BUT YES IT IS TRUE.
Some of my friends who signed it few days back already switch to Vonage …as I mentioned above soon lingo will be out of customers if they don’t change their policies.
Please guys file complain with FCC on lingo if your line is suspended because you talked to Bangladesh for more than 500 minutes...

ReplyDeleteWow, this definitely would have deterred me from getting Lingo. I was afraid of horrid service from them but back when they still had the world max plan, they were the only provider to allow me to call to Laos for free. I'm still on World Max, still make calls to Laos for free and used about 38 hours last month, about 2,280 mins, half of which are made to Laos. No problems what so ever. I actually love my lingo service. I hope they never go away. I know for sure I'll miss it.
